4. Recording of general information when you visit our website

When you access our website, information of a general nature is automatically recorded by means of cookies. This information (server log files) contains, for example, the nature of the web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your internet service provider and similar. This is exclusively a question of information which permits no deductions about who you are.

This information is technically necessary in order to provide the contents of websites requested by you correctly and is absolutely necessary when the internet is used. It is in particular processed for the following purposes:

  • ensuring an unproblematic set-up of the connection of the website,
  • ensuring unproblematic use of our website,
  • evaluation of system security and stability and
  • for further administrative purposes.

Processing of your personal data is based on our justified interest from the aforementioned purposes of data recording. We do not use your data in order to draw any conclusions about who you are. The data are only received by the controller and, if applicable, the processor.

Anonymous information of this kind is possibly evaluated by us in order to optimise our internet appearance and the underlying technology.

    5. Cookies

Like many other websites, we also use so-called “cookies“. Cookies are small text files which are transmitted to your hard disk by a website server. In this way, we automatically receive certain data such as IP address, browser used, operating system and your connection to the internet.

Cookies cannot be used to start programmes or to transmit viruses to a computer. On the basis of the information contained in cookies, we can facilitate navigation and enable the correct display of our websites.

Under no circumstances will the data recorded by us be forwarded to third parties or a connection with personal data brought about without your consent.

Naturally, you can also look at our website without cookies as a matter of principle. Internet browsers are regularly set such that they accept cookies. In general, you can deactivate the use of cookies at any time via your browser settings. Please use your internet browser’s help functions to find out how you change these settings. Please remember that individual functions of our website will possibly not work if you have deactivated the use of cookies.

    6. Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (hereinafter: Google). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, i.e. text files which are stored on your computer and enable analysis of the use of the website by you. The information about your use of this website generated by the cookies is transmitted to a Google server in the USA as a rule and stored there. As a result of the activation of the IP anonymisation on these websites, your IP address is however curtailed beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contractual states of the European Economic Area Treaty. Only in exceptional cases is the entire IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and curtailed there. By order of the operator of this website, Google will use this information in order to evaluate your use of the website, in order to put together reports on the website activities and to render other services connected with the use of the website and of the internet for the operator of the website. The IP address transmitted by your browser within the framework of Google Analytics is not put together with other data by Google.

The purposes of data processing are evaluation of the use of the website and putting together reports on activities on the website. On the basis of the use of the website and of the internet, further connected services are then to be rendered. The processing is based on the website operator's justified interest.

You can prevent storage of the cookies by a matching setting in your browser software; however, we point out that you will possibly not be able to make full use of all the functions of this website in this case. In addition, you can prevent recording of the data generated by the cookie which relate to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) to Google as well as processing of these data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available from the following link: Browser Add On to deactivate Google Analytics.

In addition or as an alternative to the browser add-on, you can stop tracking by Google Analytics on our sites by clicking this link. An opt-out cookie will be installed on your device. In this way, recording by Google Analytics for this website and for this browser will be prevented in future as long as the cookie remains installed in your browser.

    7. Use of script libraries (Google Webfonts)

To portray our contents correctly and graphically attractively on all browsers, we use script libraries and font libraries on these websites such as Google Webfonts (https://www.google.com/webfonts/). Google Webfonts are transmitted to your browser’s cache in order to avoid multiple loading. If the browser does not support Google Webfonts or prevents access, contents are displayed in a standard font.

Access to script libraries or font libraries automatically triggers a connection to the operator of the library. It is theoretically possible – however currently also unclear whether and, if so, for which purposes – operators of matching libraries record data.

The data protection guideline of the Google library operator can be found here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

    8. Use of Adobe Typekit

We use Adobe Typekit for the visual design of our website. Typekit is a service of Adobe Systems Software Ireland Ltd. which grants us access to a font library. In order to integrate the fonts used by us, your browser has to set up a connection to an Adobe browser in the USA and to download the font required for our website. In this way, Adobe is given the information that our website has been accessed from your IP address. Further information on Adobe Typekit can be found in the data protection information from Adobe, which you can access here: www.adobe.com/privacy/typekit.html

    9. Use of Google Maps

This website uses Google Maps API in order to portray geographical information visually. When Google Maps is used, data about the use of the map functions by visitors are also recorded, processed and used by Google. More detailed information about the data processing by Google can be seen in the Google data protection information. There, you can also change your personal data protection settings in the data protection centre.

Extensive instructions on administration of your own data in connection with Google products can be found here.

    10. Google AdWords

Our website uses Google conversion tracking. If you have reached our website via an advert placed by Google, a cookie is placed on your computer by Google Adwords. The cookie for conversion tracking is set when a user clicks on an advert placed by Google. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the visitor goes to certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can recognise that the user has clicked on the advert and has been forwarded to this page. Each Google AdWords customer is given a different cookie. Thus, cookies cannot be traced via the websites by AdWords customers. The information obtained with the help of the conversion cookies is used to produce conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have decided in favour of conversion tracking. The customers are told the sum total of users who have clicked on the advert and have been forwarded to a site provided with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not get any information with which users can be identified personally.

If you do not want to take part in tracking, you can reject the setting of a cookie necessary for this – for example by browser setting which generally deactivates the automatic setting of cookies or also set your browser such that cookies from the “googleleadservices.com” domain are blocked.

Please remember that you are not allowed to delete the opt-out cookies as long as you do not want measurement data to be recorded. If you have deleted all your cookies in the browser, you must set the opt-out cookie in question again.

    11. Use of Google Remarketing

This website uses the remarketing function of Google Inc. The function serves presenting of interest-related adverts to visitors of websites within the Google advertising network. On the browser of the visitor to the website, a so-called “cookie“ is stored, making it possible to recognise the visitor again when he accesses websites belonging to the Google advertising network. On these pages, the visitor can be presented with adverts which relate to contents which the visitor has accessed before on websites which use the Google remarketing function.

According to their own statements, Google do not record any personal data in this process. But if you do not want to have the Google remarketing function, you can deactivate it as a matter of principle by making the matching settings under http://www.google.com/settings/ads. As an alternative, you can deactivate the use of cookies for interest-related advertising via the advertising network initiative by following the instructions under http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp.

    12. Changes to our data protection directives

We reserve the right to adapt this data protection declaration so that it always fulfils the current legal requirements or in order to implement changes to our services in the data protection declaration, e.g. if new services are introduced. The new data protection declaration will then apply to your repeated visit.
